Fix-It Desk Terms

Version 1.1 · Effective on launch

The Fix-It Desk connects sellers who need failed Green Light checks fixed ("Clients") with independent developers ("Fixers"). GreenGo earns a 15% fee on Fix-It jobs. Using the Fix-It Desk is optional and never affects Green Light results or search ranking. These terms add to the Terms of Service. Both Clients and Fixers accept them with a separate checkbox before posting or quoting a job.

1. Roles

  • Each job is a contract directly between the Client and the Fixer. GreenGo provides the venue, payment collection, re-scans and dispute help, and is not a party to the job, an employer of Fixers, or responsible for their work.
  • Fixers are independent contractors. They decide how to do the work and use their own tools.
  • "ID-checked fixer" means Stripe verified the Fixer's identity and GreenGo reviewed their portfolio or a test task before approving them. It is not a guarantee of skill, quality or security for any job. The label shows the date of the check and links to this definition.

2. How a job works

  1. Post. The Client picks the failed checks to fix and chooses which report details to share. Only Fixers who agree to keep them confidential can see them.
  2. Quote. Fixers quote a fixed price, itemized by service, and a delivery date for the listed scope.
  3. Accept and pay. When the Client accepts a quote, the job page becomes the written contract. It shows both parties' names and mailing addresses; the itemized scope with the value of each item; the price and how it is paid; the delivery date; the date by which the Fixer must mark the work delivered and list the services performed (the delivery date, unless the parties agree otherwise); and the payment rules in Section 4. Both parties can download it, and GreenGo keeps a copy for at least 6 years. The Client pays the full price at acceptance.
  4. Access. The Client gives the Fixer the least access needed, such as a branch, a staging copy or a time-limited role, and revokes it when the job ends.
  5. Deliver. The Fixer marks the work delivered and lists the services performed. Green Light automatically re-runs the scoped checks.
  6. Approve. The Client approves, or reports a problem, within 5 business days.

3. Fees

The Client pays the quoted price; there is no added Client fee. GreenGo's fee is 15% of the price, deducted from the Fixer's payout, so the Fixer keeps 85%. The fee includes payment processing. Fees change only with 30 days' notice and never for a job already accepted.

4. Payment release

  • Release. Payment is released to the Fixer when the Client approves, or 5 business days after delivery if the Client has not reported a problem by then. A failed re-scan does not by itself stop release; the Client keeps its warranty rights under Section 8.
  • Disputes. If the Client reports a problem, Section 5 applies. GreenGo completes any Section 5 review, including an appeal, so that the held payment is released or refunded no later than 30 days after the first delivery, unless the Fixer agrees in writing to a later date.
  • Rights not reduced. GreenGo's decision decides only what happens to the held payment. It is not a finding of what the Client owes, and it does not limit either party's rights under the contract or under the New York State and New York City Freelance Isn't Free Acts. The Client may not require the Fixer to accept less than the contract price as a condition of being paid on time.
  • Late delivery. If the Fixer misses the delivery date by more than 3 business days without the Client agreeing to an extension, the Client can cancel for a full refund.
  • Payment agent. The Fixer appoints GreenGo as its limited payment agent to receive the Client's payment. The Client's payment to GreenGo satisfies the Client's obligation to pay the Fixer that amount. The Fixer authorizes GreenGo to hold, release or refund it on the Fixer's behalf only as these terms say. GreenGo is not an escrow agent.

5. Disputes

If the Client reports a problem, the Fixer has 3 business days to fix it. If they still disagree, GreenGo reviews the agreed scope, the re-scan results and the messages, and decides within 5 business days to release, partly release or refund the payment. Either party can appeal once within 7 days. The decision about the held payment does not prevent either party from pursuing other claims against the other.

6. Work product

  • When the Client has paid in full, the Fixer assigns to the Client all rights in the code and other deliverables created for the job.
  • The Fixer keeps its pre-existing tools, libraries and general know-how, and grants the Client a perpetual, royalty-free license to use any of them included in the deliverables.
  • The Fixer will not include code it has no right to license, and will follow the licenses of any open-source components it adds.

7. Confidentiality and security

  • Fixers use Client data, code and credentials only for the job, never copy Client data or secrets off the Client's systems, and delete any copies and credentials when the job ends.
  • Fixers must not add malware, backdoors, tracking or unrelated changes, and must tell the Client and GreenGo within 24 hours if they suspect a security incident during the job.
  • Clients must not share more personal data than the job requires.

8. Fixer warranty

The Fixer will perform the work in a professional manner and will fix, at no extra cost, defects in the scoped work that the Client reports within 14 days after release.

9. Fair dealing

  • Neither party may ask the other to move a job, or a job found through the Fix-It Desk in the following 12 months, off the Platform to avoid GreenGo's fees.
  • Clients may not retaliate against a Fixer for asserting their rights under the Freelance Isn't Free Acts.
  • Reviews of Fixers and Clients follow the Reviews rules in our Acceptable Use Policy.

10. Liability

The Fixer is responsible to the Client for its work. GreenGo's total liability relating to a job is limited to the greater of the fee GreenGo earned on that job or US$1,000, except for its gross negligence, willful misconduct or failure to release or refund payment as these terms require. The Terms of Service, including Section 18 (disputes) and the fee support for small business users in Section 18.4, apply to everything else.
